  Leah's Plastic Bag Mat
Posted by: Pet1 - 03-31-2015, 04:23 PM - Forum: Adorable & Funny Creatures - No Replies

Little Leah has always enjoyed sitting on nylon, vynl, silk, and plastic bags like those you get at the grocery store.

Here is one she found yesterday :-)

Cat Nip Socks - A Great Cat Toy!
Posted by: Pet1 - 03-27-2015, 03:21 AM - Forum: Main Discussion Forum - No Replies

Animal lovers,

If you are anything like me and you have a cat, you are interested in giving your furry felines toys that they actually enjoy playing with.

My Mom was the one who got me started on this some time back, and it seems to work pretty well.

Buy cat nip at the pet store, then take a (clean) old sock, and turn it inside out.  Then take the 3 or 4 inches of the tip, and make a crater looking tip that is sucked in looking (3 or 4 inches).

Then fill the crater with cat nip, and pinch the crater tight so the cat nip doesn't fall out and make a mess.  Pull this crater through the rest of the sock (which is inside out), and once it is pulled through you have a sock that is no longer inside out, and the cat nip is cleanly contained in just the tip area.

Now all that's left is to tie a knot as close to the tip (before letting go of the tip) as possible.

Once that's done it's time to give it to your cats to play with.  It's likely they are already meowing at you while you have been building the cat nip sock!

And that's it!

Enjoy cat nipers & cat nappers!

  All Main Plugins Installed!
Posted by: Pet1 - 03-27-2015, 03:13 AM - Forum: Off topic discussion forum - Replies (1)

Here it is another late 2:10am night... Ready for bed.

Now I can sleep restfully though, since I have installed all of the primary components of this forum after working on it for two days.

Tomorrow I will have some configuration that will likely take a couple of hours, then I can focus on the community more and less on the installation, design & configuration.

Anyway, a lot of progress for a short period of time. Ahhh...

Goodnight!

Almost Done With The Forum's Backend Configuration!
Posted by: Pet1 - 03-27-2015, 01:32 AM - Forum: Off topic discussion forum - No Replies

I'm getting close to completion with the back-end configuration of our Pet1 community & wow - I sure am glad lol...

While I've designed many websites, I've only done a couple of forums, and the software I'm using for this one is very involved to get setup.

Usually, where there is more to configure it means that it is more customized to best suit the need though, so I look forward to being your forum Admin, and look forward to growing this community.

Kindest regards,

Your Crazy Cat Guy Admin,

Randy Smile

World - Meet Bessie Moo Moo
Posted by: Pet1 - 03-26-2015, 03:19 PM - Forum: Critter Corner (Animals) - No Replies

Little Bessie Moo Moo - aka 'Moo' or 'Moo Moo' is not out just to win hearts - she's out take over! A silly but sweet kitty with occasional behavior issues that are required to dominate a household.

Very energetic & playful, she is always ready to pounce without notice for any appropriate (or inappropriate) occasion.

She is 2 years old, and I got her from the GoCatsGo cat rescue on Easter of 2014 - almost exactly one year ago.

Beyond cat nip and chasing the laser, she has an unsatisfiable curiosity, and also loves to chase milk jug rings hanging from the dental floss string at the end of a two foot rod.  It's great - it's like fishing for cats!

Baby Moo has a very sweet side as well.  Whenever she hears you talking (especially on the phone) she loves to jump in your lap.  She likes to be a lap cat when time permits between her busy schedule of lounging around from place to place.

Everyone welcome little Moo to the forum!

  Introducing Lovebug Leah :-)
Posted by: Pet1 - 03-26-2015, 02:57 PM - Forum: Critter Corner (Animals) - No Replies

I wanted to take a moment to introduce the community to Leah, one of my two deer kitties.  Since Leah is the older of the two I will introduce her first.

It is estimated that Leah is 9 years old.  The reason I say estimated is because she was a stray that my Mom took in back in 2008.  The vet estimated she was 2 years old at the time, and that was 7 years ago, thus the approximation of 9 years old now.

She is very fearful by nature - a true, but sweet 'frady cat'.  She likes people, but not loud noises.  She has warmed up to me, and is a great pet.  She has Asthma so she needs to take a pill daily to keep from having Asthma attacks.  A true good cat.

Her two favorite hobbies are sleeping & eating!

Here she is!  Please welcome Leah aboard the forum :-)

  Memorial for Princess Kali
Posted by: Pet1 - 03-25-2015, 11:40 PM - Forum: Heavenly Memorials - No Replies

A memorial for my baby Kali.

I estimate I was her 4th owner, and loved her dearly.  She was put to sleep on 03/25/2014 around 4:45 or 4:50pm Eastern time zone.  Today is the 1st anniversary of her passing, and I still feel unbearable loss.  I am a single cat guy, and she was my little daughter, and forever attached to my heart. I love you & will ALWAYS love you Kali!  I look forward to seeing you in Heaven someday sweetheart.

Love, your adopted human Dad,
-Randy
