  Sweet Little Fort Knox
Posted by: Pet1 - 02-29-2016, 04:55 PM - Forum: Heavenly Memorials - No Replies

Sweet baby Fort Knox was a very friendly & quite kitty who lived at the Cat rescue, and was very lovable.

Through the relatively young life she lived, she faced more health problems than several kitties put together would normally face, yet loving through to the end.

A non-operable tumor had infected poor little Fort Knox on the face just above her left eye, and grew very large.

Sadly after a terminal prognosis from the veterinarian, her Mom Noreen had her put to sleep to save her from further suffering in January.

A sweet kitty with a sweet heart - rest in heavenly peace Fort Knox.

May God bless you - we love you sweetheart.

  Gentle, Friendly Willie
Posted by: Pet1 - 02-27-2016, 12:08 AM - Forum: Heavenly Memorials - No Replies

Willie was an incredibly friendly, gentle & sweet kitty that loved all the people he met, especially his human mom Noreen.

His age is unknown, but I had the pleasure of getting to know him over the last few years, and he had a heart of gold and friendliness beyond measure.  The meaning of life to Willie was unyielding affection to all who crossed his path.

Over a period of several weeks Willie's health sharply & quickly declined.  He lost some weight, lost a huge amount of hair, had sores - possibly tumors on his paws, and was walking abnormally, especially in his back legs.

After multiple trips to the Vet, Willies health declined with mysterious ailments that were uncertain to diagnose.  Much time, love and care was provided to bring him to health but he was continuously declining in health.

Willie's owner saved him from further suffering by having him put to sleep today on Friday, February 26th, 2016.  He loved and purred and held his human mommy Noreen's hand til the end as he passed to be with the Lord in Heaven.

I can't say without tears that I will miss him and he has left a hole in my heart.  This cat touched my life in a personal way.

  Socks Diltz
Posted by: Pet1 - 01-24-2016, 09:45 PM - Forum: Heavenly Memorials - No Replies

Socks was born July 1995 and passed away Jan 17th 2016.  My friend Ross adopted him and his brother when he started college and he was with him 20 years and 6 months.

Ross mentioned "He never knew a stranger, a companion and dearly loved member of the family he will never be for gotten and he will always be a part of me".

Rest in peace sweet kitty. God bless you.

  Little Precious
Posted by: Pet1 - 12-23-2015, 10:57 PM - Forum: Heavenly Memorials - No Replies

Precious was a very very sweet, undersized kitty that was beautiful, and loving. With a heart the size of Texas, big things sometimes come in small packages.

After performing multiple tests, and diagnostics, it was found that she had internal inoperable tumors, which grew to the point she was having difficulty breathing.  Poor Precious was euthanized to end her suffering.

Yesterday she was buried by her loving guardian, and won't be forgotten.

May she rest in Peace with God forever.

  Memorial for Baby Bean
Posted by: Pet1 - 05-08-2015, 10:23 PM - Forum: Heavenly Memorials - No Replies

Bean was a sweet kitty with a deep love for life.

Recently, due to an accident - possibly a gate falling on her, she lost functionality of her rear legs.  After several veterinarian appointment treatments, she was never able to recover functionality of her rear legs.

Sweet kitty was euthanized on Saturday, May 2nd, 2015.

As sad as it is, I believe she is in Heaven now with God, and will never be sick again.

God bless her little soul,

Randy

Armed rangers guard last northern white rhino male

It's a sad world that we live in where these poor creatures are hunted for their horns.  Please say a prayer that the last male mates and has healthy offspring or they will become extinct.

Make A Home Made Cat Tent In 5 Minutes
Posted by: Pet1 - 04-12-2015, 09:01 PM - Forum: Main Discussion Forum - Replies (2)

I found this really cool idea on how to make a cat tent on The Humane Society of The United States website at the following link:
http://www.humanesociety.org/news/magazines/2015/03-04/you-can-hack-it-pet-hacks.html?credit=em_ha041015

The supplies:
2 wire hangers
1 twist tie
1 piece of cardboard (I used an empty Ramen Noodle Case box)
Here is a picture of the one shown with the author:

Unfortunately, mine looks a bit low jack compared to the very elegant one above:

When I first started to build it, my cat Bessie Moo Moo seemed very very interested, but after it was built - not so much.  Leah, my other cat seemed interested and inspected it etc, but has yet to try it out.  Anyway, it only took 5 minutes to build & I'm interested to see the results and will plan to update this post after a little time has passed to see if the cats have adapted to it or not.

Please visit the HSUS website link above to learn more about the cat tent, as well as their organization.

Kind regards,

Randall
